Jr. Drain Rangers (K-2nd)
South Yakima is pleased to partner with Franklin Conservation District to bring our youngest students with this important educational program.
Jr. Drain Rangers is a storm water education program geared for the learning needs of students in kindergarten, first and second grades. Students identify a problem in their community and come up with solutions. They have fun participating in hands-on activities, games, and discussions on storm water pollution and how to prevent it.
For the school year September 2017 – June 2018, 838 students and 53 teachers participated in the JR Drain Rangers educational program. Students from Outlook Elementary, Pioneer Elementary, Lincoln Elementary and Valley View Elementary in Toppenish, Adams Elementary and Camus Elementary in Wapato; and Zillah Intermediate.
